Children’s Health Care

Insignia Healthcare Group provides bespoke care solutions for children in their own homes with complex needs. Every individual’s care is Nurse led and supported with staff that are specifically matched to our young people’s needs. All young people are entitled to privacy and dignity and this is at the forefront of our care and beliefs.

WHAT IS DEFINED AS COMPLEX CARE?

The term complex care can also be  referred to as continuing care or long term care. Complex care is required for a person with significant healthcare issues, this can happen for several reasons such as birth or medical complications, genetic disorders and brain or spinal injuries. This leaves the young person requiring clinical support which is challenging to the family 24/7.

WHAT CONDITIONS ARE DEFINED AS COMPLEX CARE?

Everybody has their own individual needs and requirements but some examples of what Insignia can provide support with are

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down’s Syndrome
  • Tracheostomy & Ventilation
  • Brain Injuries
  • Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy
  • Physical & sensory disabilities
  • Learning disabilities

WILL I HAVE A DIFFERENT CARER EVERY DAY?

No, at Insignia we strongly believe that consistency is key to good care. We carefully match our staff to each individual based on training, experiences and personalities. We make sure that we really know our staff and they will be a good fit for our young person and their families. Communication between Insignia and our families is really important and therefore we assign each family with a care consultant who is always on hand,  from discussing staff rotas or going out for a coffee & cake to have a catch up, they are there for you. A nurse is always available, but we do allocate a specific nurse to each family who looks after the daily and general clinical needs.

WILL I HAVE A SAY IN MY CHILD’S CARE?

Absolutely, our goal is support our young people live as independently as possible with their families in their own home. This allows our families to have more control over the type of care and support they receive and have all the benefits this brings over being in residential or hospital care.
